Review: TLDR: Definitely worth it at $100 for the substantial art book, and the gorgeous Steelbook. The art cards are nice, however as far as extras go (paper poster, art cards) I found them to be lackluster outside of the art book & Steelbook, especially when compared to Fire Emblem: Three Houses. But because it’s only $100 at retail, getting the art book, Steelbook, and cartridge make this a great buy at retail. I’d highly recommend this set to fans of Nintendo limited edition sets, and to fans of Fire Emblem. If I could find it for less than $150 after taxes, I’d probably buy it. I still haven’t completed the entire game, so I’ll refrain from reviewing the game itself for the time being. But it’s fun and enjoyable, especially if you liked FE3H. I’ll update my review once I complete the game.PS: Best of luck finding this at retail, I was patient with Metroid Dread, and months later I found a ton that were undamaged, and priced at retail. So, there’s hope! I wish everyone the best chance at finding this at retail! Enjoy the game! What you receive:1. Base game (physical cartridge)2. Poster (paper, not a cloth poster)3. Art cards (pretty high quality, holographic)4. Nice art book (although it’s a tad smaller in size then the three houses set, it’s a little thicker with more content. As a collector, I do wish they were the same size on my shelf.)Okay, onto the rest of this set. Unfortunately, this set doesn’t come with the OST (soundtrack) in CD or digital download. (Fire Emblem: Three Houses = FE3H included an OST/CD.) I was also a little disappointed the poster was paper and not cloth, because of that I’ll probably just keep it sealed. But at $100 it’s definitely worth it for the art book, base game, and Steelbook. It’s basically $40 for the art book and Steelbook, which is honestly a pretty good price. Most of the nicer quality sets from Nintendo, such as the latest limited edition “Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” retailed at $130. So for $100 this set is worth it, and that’s why I’d still give it 5 stars. I feel like there’s more here for the money then most other Nintendo Switch exclusive limited editions, it’s just not as good as FE3H’s limited edition lol. The art book is similar quality to that found in Three Houses, Xenoblade Chronicles, Metroid Dread, etc.. in other words, these are substantial art books, and very high quality. To be honest, I was kinda hoping they’d include another calendar like the one that was included in Three Houses, but alas there’s none. At first I thought the art cards might’ve been a calendar, similar size and everything; but they fooled me. Might make for some nice bookmarks.I opted to be surprised by what was inside rather then find out what it came with before pre-ordering. I find that the suspense of finding out first hand is just more exciting. The Steelbook is gorgeous, and it also has the title along the spine, unlike so many other Nintendo Switch Steelbooks (Xenoblade 2 & 3, Metroid Dread Pokémon, etc..) It looks great on the shelf next to my FE3H’s Steelbook.Outside of the Steelbook, and art book, the extras are just okay if I’m being honest. The art cards are nice, but something more unique then art cards would’ve been nice. I already have close to 1000 art cards from limited edition anime, and video games. So for me art cards get kind of lost in the filing system. Still a nice extra, but yeah the FE3H’s limited edition set was definitely nicer. Definitely worth it, though just for the art book and Steelbook alone. The only thing I prefer about this limited edition set, is that artistically, the Steelbook book has a much more dynamic design. I think the design for Engage is way more fun to look at, especially side by side, and I also like how they didn’t use that suede/felt material on the art book like this did with FE3H’s. My Three Houses art book has mostly stayed on my shelf dedicated to art books, yet the cover looks so worn. So there are some good things about this set when comparing it to the Three Houses limited edition set. However, I wouldn’t pay $200+ on eBay for this limited edition. You’ll have to decide how much you’d pay for each item, and draw a line on what you’re willing to spend. Unfortunately scalpers have ruined limited editions for so many people, I got lucky and saw this came back in stock after it had sold out. Otherwise I’d of been stuck paying scalper prices, and I probably would’ve passed even as a collector. All in all, I’d strongly recommend this limited edition to all Fire Emblem fans. I’d give it a 5/5 even if it’s not quite as nice as the FE3H’s limited edition. It’s still a good deal for what you get in the art book, and the Steelbook. I don’t like reviewing games I haven’t finished, so this review is purely for the physical contents in this limited edition set, I’ll come back and update this review once I’ve finished the game and go into detail about the gameplay. Best of luck finding this at retail, I was patient with Metroid Dread, and months later I found a ton that were undamaged, and priced at retail. So, there’s hope! I wish everyone the best chance at finding this at retail! Enjoy!Delivery: 1 starThe delivery was terrible. It was at least in a sealed box, and they did use an air packet (which had no air in it when I opened the box.) But both the seals on this were broken. I was honestly concerned someone had opened it and taken something out before boxing it back up. Fortunately everything was untouched, but the seals were still broken, which technically made this a used item. It was just thrown around so much that the seals were broken. That’s pretty crazy, and concerning when you think about it.

Review: FE17 Special Edition is a decent Collector’s Edition of the game amongst all of the other FE games that have received one. What this Special Edition improved over every other Nintendo Special Edition as well as Xenoblade 3’s Special Edition is that there is now a slot in the box for both the regular retail case as well as a slot for the metal case. Before hand, there was only space for only one or the other for which often the regular retail case was omitted in favor of the metal case with the game in its slot. Which sucked, especially if ya got Xenoblade 2 Special Edition and wanted to keep it together with Torna Golden Country in the same box for when that physical standalone was released. For the game itself, its a decent game for the an anniversary title, which features most of the main protagonists from the games that have been released to date, not counting its remakes. What sucks about the game is that there is no Ring for Kris from FE12, who was the first playable avatar unit of any FE game. To not include him or her is huge disservice to long time players of the franchise.Sure it has some of its own fair share of problems, but the main story could have been better.
